Mechanical Design EngineerSalary Range:
£30,000 to £45,000
Hour: 40 Hours per week;
8am - 5pm Mon - Thu, 8am - 4pm Fri

Job Description:
A new and exciting role as an Mechanical Design Engineer for an advanced engineering company whose complex and unique product range is used across the globe within a variety of industries.
To amend and produce mechanical designs and one-off special items ensuring output is obtained in a timely and accurate manner.
Main Responsibilities- To deliver drawings and relevant production information on time for production and despatch
- Report to Line Manager(s) as necessary
- To liaise with other managers and staff on Engineering issues
- To liaise with Sales & Marketing to ensure customer support is maintained.
- Use correct procedures and maintain archives.
- To ensure compliance with Company Health and Safety procedures
- To maintain compliance with Company and Department systems and procedures
- To design, modify and check compliance of drawings to customer specifications and configurations.
- To monitor, rectify and notify relevant parties of any changes required to drawings, other technical documents and parts.
- To monitor and report changes or updates to existing drawings.
- To ensure full customers records are maintained and continually updated.
- To monitor and check the quality of all drawings issued.
- To provide customer support and problem solving (generating outstanding problem list).
- New engineering designs, Grips, Fixtures, Associated Equipment and Automated Systems Project Work
- Quotations for new and amended designs
- To maintain drawing archives
- To use appropriate tools supplied for the design and changes of products
- A requirement to undertake other duties as may reasonably be required
- Apprentice trained time served, NVQ / HNC / HND in Mechanical Engineering or other relevant discipline.
- Solid/proven engineering & design background
- Autocad/Autodesk Inventor experience
- Autodesk Vault Experience (preferred)
- Mechanical Engineering (BEng), Chartered Engineer Status(preferred)
- Close tolerance assembly skills in a machine build environment
- Able to read and interpret engineering drawings, general assembly drawings and geometric tolerances.
- Able to operate a variety of hand/machine tools.
- Working knowledge of all relevant current Health and Safety best practice
- Time served mechanical apprenticeship
- City and Guilds, NVQ or BTEC qualifications or equivalent of ONC standard minimum.
- Ability to work unsupervised and as part of team
