Student Funding and Financial Support Administrator
SBU/Department: Academic Registry/Student Admin Service/Student Finance
FTE: 1 FTE (working 37 hours per week)
Duration of Contract: Permanent
Salary: UH4 £23,662 pa to £24,715 pa with potential to progress to £26,642 pa on achieving designated skills and experience
Annual Leave: 25 days plus standard public holidays and an additional 4 days including the closure of our office between Christmas and New Year
Location: University of Hertfordshire, mainly College Lane campus, with De Havilland campus support- We are looking to appoint a motivated Student Funding and Financial Support Administrator to form part of the Student Funding and Financial Support team.

The Student Funding and Financial Support team (SFFS) sits within Student Finance and manage all queries relating to student loans and financial support at the University.

We are looking for the type of person who wants to make a difference to our students journey in higher education.- SFFS offers information and support to new and returning students who are receiving funding from Student Finance England and other awarding bodies.

Main duties and responsibilities

  • We are looking to appoint a driven and motivated Administrator to form part of the Student Funding and Financial Support (SFFS) team within Student Finance. This is a varied position with the opportunity to contribute to new working practices and supporting students across both campuses.
  • The administrator will be expected to develop specialist knowledge relating to all aspects of Student Finance funding for Home/EU students with an emphasis on Student Loans Company eligibility. Processing student records for the SLC (including attendance/registration confirmations, change of circumstances etc.), providing expert and impartial advice and assistance to students is a key aspect of this role.
    Skills and experience
  • For this busy and challenging role, you will have excellent organisational and IT skills. Proven experience of customer service and working to strict deadlines is essential. You will also be a good communicator, with the ability to pay attention to detail and you will be committed to providing a highquality service.
  • You will be able to follow clearly defined processes and be keen to collaborate and improve processes to increase our student experience.
    Qualifications required
  • You will hold a minimum of five GCSEs, including Maths and English at grade C/4 or above, or equivalent level qualification, or proven work experience. Alevel, degree or a higher qualification would be advantageous.
