First Integrated Solutions are seeking an experienced Workshop Supervisor to join the Rentals team on a Full Time, Permanent basis.


Based in Bridge of Don, Aberdeen you will be responsible for the day to day, safe and efficient running of the Rentals Department alongside arranging the planning and delivery of all jobs for the Lifting and Tooling Departments.


Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for coordinating and planning production activities ensuring production timelines are achieved in line with client requirements and in accordance with company procedures.
  • Accountable for ensuring workshop personnel work within their competence responsibilities and areas of scope and that such work is carried out within the framework of appropriate legislation.
  • Provide guidance and supervision to the workshop team organising and assigning their tasks and responsibilities to ensure all work is carried out in a safe and efficient manner including customer service levels are provided at all times.
  • Provide adequate training, information, instruction, and supervision to ensure that work is conducted safely and correctly to the company standards.
  • Assist Operations Director to ensure the department(s) are active in the costeffective use of resources.
  • Review work orders prior to issuing to the workshop team, raising any issues / concerns with the Operations Director.
  • Responsible for continual improvement of workshop processes and procedures; identifying, proposing and where directed acting on such suggestions to streamline processes in order to improve company practices.
  • Responsible for ensuring adequate stock levels are maintained within the rental departments to support company objectives, requirements, and targets.
  • Responsible for ensuring any Trainee development is progressing in a timely manner and in accordance with company procedures.
  • Conduct and record toolbox meetings including attending meetings as required.
  • Assist the Operations Director to Proactively work towards building the companys competence portfolio.
  • Responsible for ensuring all equipment is serviced and maintained to a high standard in accordance with company work instructions and procedures.
  • Ensure adherence to all Company Policies & Procedures supporting other departments as necessary.
  • Responsible for the maintenance of workshop equipment within department.
  • Liaise closely with the Operations Director to ensure that resources (people, equipment, facility) match anticipated activity levels suggesting changes to practices as required.
  • Take a proactive approach preventing, identifying, and resolving quality problems.
  • Focal point for any queries arising from workshop team; addressing any issues, concerns in accordance with company procedures and escalating to the Operations Director as necessary.
  • Responsible for the recruitment of any roles within the department, in accordance with company procedures.
  • Evaluate and assess employee performance in accordance with company procedures and policies.
  • Responsible for ensuring housekeeping is maintained in the workshop and surrounding yard areas.
  • Provide, instruction and supervision to ensure that work is conducted safely and correctly to the company standards.
  • Monitor overtime of Workshop Team ensuring that additional hours are arranged as required to meet client requirements.
  • Operate in the capacity of Key Holder opening/closing workshop to meet operating hours.
  • Responsible for providing cover to the QC Inspector for the Rentals Departments as necessary, assigning tasks within the department as necessary.
  • Assist with any other duties as and when required.

Qualification & Experience

_ Essential:
_


  • Significant experience in managing / supervising multidisciplined teams.
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of Mechanical/Electrical engineering.
  • Computer literate with experience using Microsoft Office Packages such as Outlook, Excel, Word.

_ Preferred:
_


  • HNC/ HND Mechanical Engineering
  • Full UK Driving License
  • Technical understanding of workshop disciplines.
  • Experience using SharePoint systems.
