We are currently seeking to appoint an Operations Officer on a Full-time, permanent basis.


Key responsibilities:


  • Maintain Security in College:
  • To protect all the students and staffs in the building and around the building area
  • To monitor students in class to protect staff and school equipment
  • To protect all the equipment ( electronic and nonelectronic)
  • To protect all the cars in parking area and parking spaces. Students and visitors should not be parking in staff spaces
  • To collect delivery and keep it in safe place (protect from stealing delivery items)
  • Assist in maintaining discipline in cafe, library, classroom, support room, common area and in corridors
  • Maintain Health and Safety
  • Visit whole office every day in morning and in afternoon to see if there are any Health and safety concerns.
  • If there is any H&S concerns then fix the problem and remove the Hazards which may create problem to people in building.
  • Repair and fix faulty equipment, furniture, bulbs, powersockets, projectors, printers, phones, cameras, airconditioning and etc. If not fixable, call the company to replace the equipment with procurement officer.
  • Conduct quarterly Firedrill
  • Conduct fire exit procedures for new staff as part of their induction
  • Visit other branches to monitor security, equipment, and Health and Safety issues.
  • Bring the staff, visitors and staff out from building in case of Firebells ring or in case of emergency
  • Ensure College has appropriate numbers of staff trained in First Aid and as Fire Marshalls and ensure that their training is in date
  • Record all the incidents and issues:
  • Health and Safety issues in Health and Safety Log book
  • Incidents in incident log book
  • Day to day operations log book
  • Maintain all PAT records
  • Maintain temperature in rooms, open blinds if there is dark or too much sun. Check the Airconditionings temperatures
  • To take line management responsibility for staff working in the library, cleaning, cafeteria, reception and security, ensuring that all supervisory, appraisal and development needs are met.
  • To ensure that there is adequate cover at all times in the library, cafeteria, reception, cleaning and at security
  • Complete in a timely fashion all records and reports as requested by the Director of School.
  • Other tasks and responsibilities as appropriate to the role

Health and Safety/Risk Management


All staff are responsible for working with their colleagues to maintain and improve the quality of services provided to our students and visitors.

This includes complying at all times with the college Policies, including Health and Safety policies, in particular by following agreed safe working procedures, and reporting incidents.

The Post holder will have a particular responsibility for being proactive in reporting any breaches of Health and Safety to their line manager and/or taking immediate action if there is a high risk of injury to users of the College service.


The post holder must respect the confidentiality of data stored electronically and by other means in line with the Data Protection Act.


The Post-holder must demonstrate a strong commitment to the College Equal Opportunities Policy when dealing with students, staff and visitors.

This may involve a particular responsibility to assist anyone with a disability or Special Needs. Any shortcomings of the service in providing an Equal Opportunities environment should be reported immediately to the Operations Manager.

All members of staff are required to be professional, co-operative and flexible in line with the needs of the post, Department and College.


This job description will be regularly reviewed and at least prior to the annual appraisal, if applicable or on a regular basis to ensure they are an accurate representation of the post.
