Overview / Responsibilities:

Work scope
- Self starter and an ability to produce electrical deliverables with little input or guidance
- High level of competency with respect to software packages.
- Supports engineers and designers during FEED and detailed design stages of a project
- Manages and audits projects' SPI database
- Oversees project initiation and set up in SPI
- Provides efficient data imports and exports
- Maintain projects SPI database seed file and contents
- Acts as SPI Subject Matter Expert
- Provides expertise for SPI integration with software design tools (e.g., AutoCAD)
- Ensures adherence to Client's standards and Wood's project practices and procedures
- Develops training plan for engineers, designers, and technicians as needed
- Provides local support associated with updates to SPI software
- Manages / coordinates Instrument Indices/user defined fields
- Manage escalation and resolution of database issues, engaging with external teams as required
- Provides support for developing custom reports and instrument data sheets as required
- Provides local support in the setup of SmartPlant logons and access rights
- Review and approve database change requests
- Review output reports for consistency
- Assigns loop numbers
- Ensures data structure consistency across project disciplines
- Ensures data integrity of the SPI database
- Monitor project information and compliance by users contributing data
- Provides SPI support of all control systems design for projects
- Coordination of concurrent SPI activities
- Maintains SPI Standards documentation
- Support of multiple SmartPlant interfaces with appropriate focal points
- Development of new documentation (Project Guide for SmartPlant Instrumentation)
Skills / Qualifications:
- Ideally a HNC/HND or Degree
- A proven track record in the following project phases: FEED, Detailed Engineering (EPC)
- Computer literate with excellent written and verbal communication skill
- Good level of SmartPlant Instrumentation / Intools experience
- Experience with DCS / ESD / PLC wiring and layout, instrument loop diagrams
- Experience using Intergraph SmartPlant Instrumentation (previously known as Intools) modules: Instrument Index, Instrument Spec Sheets, Wiring, Process Datasheets, and Loop Diagrams
- Indepth Proven Experience in SmartPlant Administration including database upgrades, settingup and supporting SmartPlant Instrumentation projects, and splitting off projects for parallel engineering
- Experience in database setup and dataset management
- Experience with SmartPlant Instrumentation customization and configuring seed files
- Experience using Infomaker to customize specification sheets and developing custom reports
- Technical writing skills
- Positive and proactive attitude towards development and problem solving
- Good communication skills
