Description

The NCOA is the Trade Union of the National Crime Agency which focusses on the needs of its members and those working in other law enforcement groups.

Like many within the law enforcement community, a significant number of our members are bound by anti-strike legislation.


The NCOA is committed to building its union to reflect the needs of its crime fighting membership and free from external interference or political persuasion, with a dedicated focus on member protection.


The NCOA seeks a new employee to join our small team who is multi-functional and versatile, with a willingness to gain and demonstrate an understanding of the NCOA ethos, member services and strategic direction.

Any individual fulfilling this important role will be expected to:
Promote our business,

Deliver at face-to-face recruitment events

Provide assistance and support to its National Officers

Respond to membership and database queries

Support and organise our members and volunteer rep cadre.

Although the NCOA is a highly flexible employer it should be noted that the hours of work for the role are weekdays 09:00 - 17:00 and may entail an element of unsocial hours, including occasional early mornings/evening work to facilitate meetings.

Pre-planned short periods of working away from home will also be required.


Skills required
Applicants should be able to demonstrate experience of the following:

  • Campaigning, organising and recruitment
  • A broad understanding of Trade Union objectives, and a strong personal commitment to these objectives
  • Working within a small team, and display strong interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate effectively
  • IT competency with experience of operating databases.


The successful applicant would need to display energy, enthusiasm, resilience, commitment, and an ability to use individual initiative and most importantly a commitment to supporting and developing our cadre of NCOA 'volunteer' representatives.
