ServiceNow QA Lead

This role will be based in our Clearwater Court, Reading. Hybrid working arrangements available.

We are looking for a Quality Assurance (QA) lead engineer to develop and execute exploratory and automated tests to ensure product quality.

Primarily working on the ServiceNow product, the QA lead engineer responsibilities include designing and implementing tests, debugging and defining corrective actions.

You will also review system requirements and track quality assurance metrics (e.g. defect densities and open defect counts.)

Primarily you should monitor all stages of software development to identify and resolve system malfunctions to meet quality standards.

You will use your knowledge and expertise to enhance the end-to-end testing cycle and, where possible, introduce automation to streamline the test process.

You will be willing to assist the development of others whilst also developing your own knowledge. You will ensure best practice is followed and look for opportunities for improvement.


What you'll be doing

  • Review requirements, specifications and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback
  • Create detailed, comprehensive and wellstructured test plans and test cases
  • Design, develop and execute automation scripts using opensource tools
  • Liaise with internal teams (e.g. developers and product managers) to identify system requirement
  • Investigate the causes of nonconforming software and train users to implement solution
  • Participate within team DevOps ceremonies (sprint planning, show and tell, sprint review etc) providing valued input
  • Stay up to date with new testing tools and test strategies

Your Skills

  • Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools and processes
  • A background of, or familiarity with, the ServiceNow product
  • Proven work experience in software development
  • Experience in writing clear, concise and comprehensive test plans and test cases
  • Handson experience with automated testing tools
  • Working knowledge of test management software (e.g. Azure DevOps, qTest, Jira, Zephyr) and SQL
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process
