Description

As a Healthcare Assistant you will have a vital role in delivering hands-on care to patients including supporting patient with their personal hygiene needs and assisting them during meal time.

You will also help in recording intake and output chart, checking of blood glucose pre meals.

Monitoring patients and performing basic health check, making patients feel comfortable. Washing and dressing patients,. Serving meals and help to feed patients. Ability to work well with others.


As a healthcare assistant in diabetes you will provide support in a numbers of nursing interventions, including blood glucose in those patient living with diabetes.


Healthcare assistant should ensure that the ward is clean and is providing a safe environment for both patients, relatives and staff.

Ward C3 provides high quality specialist endocrinology and diabetes care for an adult which is an inpatient base hospital care.

We are a mixed gender 14 bedded acute medical ward.


The diabetes and endocrinology team consist of specially trained diabetes specialist nurses, registrars and consultants who work closely with patients and ward nurses/doctors to optimise patient's diabetes control whilst acutely unwell.

Ward C3 also manages patients who have hormone deficiencies related to endocrine system.

Our team works closely with dieticians, podiatrist and other health care professionals in providing a multi-disciplinary approach to endocrine and diabetes care.


We have a well -established multi-cultural workforce and we will provide and support your training needs to develop your skills in your vital role as a healthcare assistant.

If successful this vacancy will require a Standard DBS check at a cost of £21.90. This cost will be deducted from your first Trust salary


In addition to this it will be a condition of your employment that you will join the DBS update service and pay the annual subscription fee of £13.
