Description

The main functions of this role are to assist the Supervisor, plan and manage day to day assignments, taking leadership and direction of warehouse operations including Safety, Quality, Environmental & Customer Order Fulfilment while developing and maintaining an atmosphere of positive morale that is safe, comfortable and conducive to personal growth and development.


Problem solving skills such as Six Sigma/Lean Principles would be useful in this role to help the job holder plan, oversee and help with running the warehouse as a first line supervisor, safeguarding the warehouse as an accident-free environment for everyone.

Lean manufacturing is a key principle of our day-to-day working environment to maximise productivity and assure efficiency of our operations.


Other features of the role include making sure all elements of Compliance are adhered to and the culture of Continuous Improvement is maintained, guaranteeing accuracy of documentation, training of staff and monitoring of their performance.

The job holder should ideally have experience of inventory and quality management.


Essential Criteria

  • GSCE Mathematics Grade C or above (CSE Grade 1)
  • GCSE English Grade C or above (CSE Grade 1)
  • Able to perform each essential duties satisfactorily. The requirements listed above are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
  • Ability to solve practical problems as they arise
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions either written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • Ability to communicate in a positive manner with all departmental personnel and interdepartmental.
  • Ability to demonstrate an understanding of Quality, Safety, Health & Environmental systems and programmes
  • Professional attitude with handson approach to work
  • Able to work with others to develop/implement ideas

Desirable Criteria

  • Understand problem solving techniques, such as Six Sigma/Lean Principles or similar models
  • Working knowledge of fabrication and technical drawing
  • Working knowledge of Aerospace Quality Standards eg AS9100, ISO900
  • Valid UK driving licence
