Description
Our client is a growing SME seeking to hire a Finance Manager. The role takes full ownership of the finance and accounting function and manages 2 reports.


Responsibilities:


  • Take overall control of the company's accounting function.
  • Lead, manage and develop the finance department to ensure maximum effectiveness, including reviewing and feedback of team members performance.
  • Leading the analysis of monthly and quarterly numbers and presenting findings to the board and management team to ensure that budgets and forecasts are accurate and controlled.
  • Oversee the preparation of the company's financial accounts to ensure that these are presented accurately and on time.
  • Develop and control the company's annual operating budget to ensure that all financial targets are met.
  • Working with managers to prepare and review departmental budgets on a regular basis.
  • Provide financial advice and guidance to the company's Directors and managers to enable them to achieve their objectives whilst understanding the financial impact.
  • Manage yearend processes and working with external accountant.
  • Ensure that payroll, VAT and HMRC processes are correctly followed in a timely manner.
  • Ensure that P11D, PSA and other documents are filed on time.
  • Management of all finance policies regarding debit, taxation, disposals, capital requirements.
  • Carry out all necessary actions to ensure that the company meets it's financial and legal obligations.
  • Ensure that all company financial systems are robust, compliant and support current activities and future growth.
  • Work with the management team to grow the business formulating strategies and plan.
  • Drive the continuous improvement of endtoend accounting practices.
  • Continually identify risks to delivery, propose solutions where necessary and effectively manage stakeholder expectations throughout.
  • Dealing with working capital management and production of cash flow forecasts.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, eg bank, payroll provider, auditors etc.
  • Responsibility for overseeing Debtors and Bad Debt management as well as Creditors and cashflow management.
  • The post holder should ensure compliance with GDPR policies. Third party data should be treated in accordance to the GDPR policy, therefore all data is assumed to be private unless permission is given.
  • All data should be stored securely in compliance with the company's policies and no data is taken off site unless on company devices and with permission.
  • This list is not exhaustive and may be changed at any time following consultation between employee and manager.
A salary of £45,000-£50,000 plus benefits
