Job Title:
Care Assistant - Night Care Assistant.
Accountable to:
Registered Manager
Reports to:
Team Leader
Job Profile
To undertake, under the supervision of the Manager & Team Leader, all duties in relation to the well-being of the residents by delivering the highest possible care in a professional manner.
Key responsibilities & Duties
- To be fully conversant with and adhere to the policies and procedures of the home, its structure, functions, and support systems.
- To undertake induction training and participate in the annual training program, which may be required either by Law or Company Standards.
- To provide all personal care and attention for each resident and to follow the night care in accordance with the planned care.
- To ensure Resident's physical needs, comfort and dignity are met.
- To allow Resident's freedom and choice and abide by the Resident's Charter.
- To maintain confidentiality at all time in compliance with the Data Protection Act 199
- To assist all other staff when necessary, to perform their nightly duties as requested.
- To cover colleague's duties in times of sickness and holidays.
- To report any changes in Resident's physical or mental condition to the Matron or her Administrator and maintain accurate records on all forms as required.
- To comply with regulations in respect of Health and Safety at Work, C.O.S.S.H, Environmental Health, Fire procedures, Infection Control and abide by the Home's Health and Safety Policy.
- To report promptly all complaints, however minor, to the Matron or her Administrator.
- To abide by the home's security precautions at all times.
- To ensure residents clothing and toiletries are adequate and name and ensure deficiencies are reported to the Manager or senior carers.
- To participate in assessment and evaluation of Resident's care.
- To abide by the Home's Quality Assurance framework, policies and procedures, work practices and report any nonconformances in the correct manner.
- To attend meetings, supervisions/group supervisions as required by the Manager or her Administrator.
- To take care to protect Resident's personal belongings.
- To answer outside telephone calls politely and relay messages efficiently.
- To promote the good name of the Home at all times.
- To cooperate with and maintain good working relationships with all staff understanding equality, diversity and inclusion.
- To undertake cleaning duties as required, replenish stocks of disposable items and exercise cost control at all times.
- To perform other such duties equivalent with the nature and level of the post as may be reasonably required.

Part-time hours: 28.5 per week
