The College is seeking to appoint two well-qualified, high performing and enthusiastic individuals to the Senior Tutor post, who will lead and inspire students.

The Senior Tutor role is crucial to help ensure students obtain the support and guidance they need through a 'high support, high challenge' culture, to maximise their overall achievement and experience, and to ensure each student realises their potential at Notre Dame 'to be the best they can be.

'

The Head of Students leads the Senior Tutors who in turn line manage the Achievement Tutors.

At Notre Dame Catholic Sixth Form College each individual student is central to all our endeavours.

The Senior Tutor and Achievement Tutor structure was introduced to the College just over three years ago and has been a huge success.

Each Senior Tutor will have sole responsibility for a small number of tutor groups and will be a positive presence across college campus.

The Achievement Tutors motivate, energise and challenge students to stretch their potential to the full.

The ATs act as a coach, providing students with individualised support and challenge, relentless positivity, and signpost to appropriate internal and external career development events, to ensure students have a full experience of College life.

As a Senior Tutor you will be expected to demonstrate a consistent commitment to the guidance and challenge of students.

You will help set and review learning targets, track and monitor attendance and achievement, deliver the tutorial programme, agree motivational targets, manage 1-1s and produce student progress reviews.

You will manage students who are escalated through the Student Intervention Process (SIP) and these meetings may involve parents/carers. You will therefore be expected to work flexibly to ensure that the responsibilities of the role are fulfilled effectively.

The Achievement Tutor team have a very friendly and professional atmosphere within the department and a strong emphasis on encouraging a positive rapport between staff and students in the pursuit of academic success.

There is a wealth of experience and professional knowledge and an encouragement to undertake CPD

Closing date: 9am on Tuesday 06 June 2023.
