Heathrow

THE COMPANY


A large privately owned group of companies with a portfolio of hotels, office investments and Shopping Centres are looking to expand their finance team with an ambitious Financial Controller.

They are open to an accountant who is already working in industryor looking to make their first move out of practice.

They have over £1.5 billion assets under management.


EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIRED

ACA, ACCA, CIMA qualified or equivalent

Experience within Commercial Property or audit experience in retail:

THE ROLE


This is a fantastic opportunity for a proactive accountant looking for a varied job with excellent exposure with great career prospects.

You will be the primary contact for the retail division's financials.


ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial Accounting & Control

  • Manage all accounting processes and ensure the smooth running of the retail finance department such as accounts payable, general ledger, billing, payroll and cost control and payroll functions
  • Prepare monthly financial statements and maintain accurate accounting records
  • Support monthend function
  • Liaise with external auditors
  • Ensure the balance sheets integrity is kept
  • Review and improve processes
  • Continually monitor controls

Management reporting

  • Ensure all reports are delivered in a timely manner
  • Prepare and justify the annual budget of the shopping centre
  • Direct and review forecasts and report variances

Cost Management

  • Approve all Purchase orders and Payroll increments
  • Review, control and approve expenditure
  • Understand and measure cost drivers
  • Ensure the cash position is optimised by keeping control of the working capital environment and manage the cashflow
  • Hold monthly credit meetings with senior managers

Business Support

  • Provide support to the asset management team
  • Provide financial guidance on the implementation of budgets
