Summary

The Borneo Nature Foundation (BNF) aims to protect some of the world's last great rainforests,
working with government, community, and university partners in Indonesia for the conservation
of forests, indigenous livelihoods and endangered wildlife including orangutans, through
community-led programmes of habitat protection, restoration, research and education.

BNF International is a registered charity in England and Wales (no , established and
led by BNF's founders to promote our work globally, raise funding, and provide strategic,
scientific and technical support for our activities in Indonesia. BNF International is
headquartered in Penryn, Cornwall, with European wings in Barcelona, France and the
channels.

We are seeking a Grants Officer to join our small, but rapidly-growing, charity and manage all
aspects of our grants process from seeking new opportunities, writing proposals, coordinating
with granting organisations and preparing narrative reports. BNF's primary source of income for
our conservation activities in Indonesia is via grants from multiple donors worldwide.
Reporting to the CEO, you will manage BNF International's grant databases and lead or otherwise
support grant writing, reporting and related donor communications.

This role may conducted remotely or be based in one of our European offices, with some
short-duration travel required from time to time within UK and between European offices, and
additional periodic travel to Indonesia required to coordinate with our Indonesian partners and
visit the conservation projects. To fulfil this rewarding and challenging role, you will
therefore have demonstrable experience of grant-writing, preferably in the environmental
conservation field, have excellent writing and organizational skills, ability to work to
deadlines and ideally have a passion for conservation and the natural environment.

Key tasks

Coordinate BNF's grant-seeking process by chairing our internal Grants Working Group to
identify opportunities, coordinate grant writing and reporting, working to ensure that
deadlines are met and responsibilities are assigned among our team.

Lead grant writing from inception through to submission, coordinating with BNF
International and Indonesia team members as necessary to acquire relevant input and information
and ensure proposals are meeting our project needs.

Assist in the development and monitoring of BNF programme target metrics to ensure that
Monitoring & Evaluation, and Programme teams.

Lead grant reporting up to submission, coordinating with BNF International and Indonesia
team members as necessary to acquire relevant data / coordinate report writing.

Communicate with grant-giving organisations as required.

What will you bring?

Experience and demonstrable success in grant-writing and reporting, ideally within the
environmental conservation sector.

Ability to work to deadlines and confidence working within a small team to work together on
preparing, reviewing, editing and submitting proposals and reports; and ability to quickly
grasp the nature of a project and its requirements.

A friendly and personable nature, with attention to detail and flexibility to accommodate
changing demands at short notice.
