Main duties of the job:


An Exciting opportunity has arisen to join - and help develop - the gastroenterology service at Chase Farm & Barnet Hospitals.


We are looking for an applicant who has experience in gastroenterology and endoscopy to support the provision of service across both hospital sites.

The successful applicants will work within the multidisciplinary outpatient gastroenterology clinics and endoscopy lists at the Chase Farm Hospital and Barnet Hospital.


This post will cover 10 PAs The successful applicants will participate in the gastroenterologist of the week service along with the out of hours GI bleeding service, contributing to the provision of an inpatient and outpatient GI service as well as Endoscopy sessions.

The applicants will be encouraged to contribute to the audit, research as well as under
- and post-graduate teaching within the department.

Education and Professional Qualifications:


Essential criteria:


  • Full GMC registration
  • MRCP or equivalent
  • CCT or interview within 6 months of CCT date

Desirable criteria:


  • MD or PhD
  • Outstanding research record

Experience:


Essential criteria:


  • Broad experience is general clinical gastro and endoscopy
  • Training and Education of undergraduate and postgraduate students

Desirable criteria:


  • Experience in small bowel imaging and GI physiology
  • Experience in integrated care services development and delivery

Skill and Aptitudes:


Essential criteria:


  • Strong teaching skills and experience
  • Understanding of clinical governance and audit procedures
  • Ability to work in a multidiscplinary team
  • Motivated, flexible and enthusiastic
