1:1 Learning Support Assistant must have an Enhanced DBS

If you answered yes to the above, then this 1:1 Learning Support Assistant role is for you

1:1 Learning Support Assistant

For this 1:1 Learning Support Assistant role, you will be required to support a student who has Autism on a 1:1 basis.

The student you will be working with is non-verbal so a knowledge of PECs or Makaton would be ideal but isn't essential as you will be doinga lot of work via a computer or table.

You will be required to support thing student throughout their time at school, this will include during lessons and break times.

You may be required to assist them to the toilet but will not be required to complete personalcare.

Due to the students needs there may be times where they become frustrated or overwhelmed and this can show in their before.

Therefore, the ideal 1:1 Learning Support Assistant for this role must have a strong understanding of Autism and have a friendlyand nurturing attitude.

SEN School

This SEN School is found in the London borough of Lewisham and caters for male and female students aged between 9-19 years with Speech and Language Difficulties, Autism and Moderate Learning Difficulties.

They currently have 140 students who attend and in theirlast Ofsted visit in February 2019, they were awarded 'Outstanding' in all areas.
