The Directorate of Medical Education is seeking to appoint enthusiastic individuals to assist in the delivery of undergraduate teaching at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, Gartnavel General Hospital, Glasgow Royal Infirmary, the Royal Alexandra Hospital, Vale of Leven Hospital and Inverclyde Royal Hospital.
These posts would ideally suit any post Foundation trainee who has an interest and experience in teaching.The posts are for one year from August 2023.
The postholders will focus on the organisation, development and provision of teaching to undergraduate medical students from Glasgow University. Teaching will comprise a mixture of bedside teaching, facilitated tutorials and simulation.
A regular contribution to other teaching, including multi-disciplinary teaching and supporting the NHSGGC Widening Access to Medicine Programme will also be expected.
The postholders will also coordinate teaching by other staff.It is expected that 8 sessions (32 hours) per week will be devoted to teaching activities (worked flexibly). The remaining 2 sessions are available to maintain clinical practice.
These posts do not attract a banding.
Allocation of site specific clinical and teaching duties will be outlined in the postholder's job plan organised by the site Hospital Sub Deans, Associate Director of Medical Education and Simulation Lead.
It is anticipated that interviews will take place for these posts on the afternoon of and 10th
May and 11th** May 2023.
