The Role


The role holder will have oversight of Carnival UK's (CUK) risk management database review and migration to a new platform.

This includes implementation fleet and business wide upon completion and providing required training and support to users.

Ensure there are effective risk management tools and processes in place to mitigate business and operational risks and ensure lessons learned are implemented and stakeholders fully engaged.

Implementation and support of current Carnival UK's risk management database.


When required provide support to Superintendent ISM with management of the CUK SMS database (Global HESS) and administration support in maintaining and updating the system.


Establishing the level of risk the company are willing to take and performing regular risk evaluation: evaluating the company's previous handling of risks, and comparing potential risks with criteria set out by the company.


Working with operational management to further develop 'listen and learn culture' and share best practices and promoting a safety commitment culture throughout the organisation.


Ensuring full compliance with relevant legislation, codes, and industry standards, and coordinating the development of new company policies and procedures when required.


Our role categories range from CUK15 (entry level) to CUK1 (Brand President) so you can clearly see internal development opportunities.

This role is a CUK 08 and is offered on a full time, permanent contract basis with at least two days based in our Southampton office.

Alongside bringing these to the role, you'll also need:


  • Proven record of using an electronic risk assessment database/system, and incident management database/ system
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in order to work with, provide advice to, train, and promote excellence
  • Experience of maintaining externally audited management standards
  • Experience of working with senior management
  • The ability to organise and prioritise workload
  • A flexible approach to working hours
