Fixed Term Contract until Until 6th September 2023

The Oncology Centre is looking to appoint a Fixed Term Trust Grade Specialty Registrar.

This role will include timetabled sessions, on call commitment as well as ward cover and the opportunity to support research and development.

The post-holder will be assigned a clinical/educational supervisor and the experience gained can be geared towards supporting individual development needs and aspirations.


Medical staff at our centre also benefit from access to a wide range of excellent facilities including Undergraduate and Postgraduate Medical Schools, on site Postgraduate Medical Centre and Medical School Library with a Health and Leisure Centre available for use as well as an active Doctors Mess.

The post holder will be expected to complete several inpatient and outpatient duties. Specific activity highlighted in detailed job description section.

The precise timing of sessions is dependent on which consultant the Registrar or Specialty Doctor is working for, but will include:

  • Ward rounds
  • Outpatients' clinics
  • Chemotherapy prescribing
  • Assessment and followup of patients on radiotherapy and chemotherapy
  • Management of clinical emergencies
