Witham Valley Care Group is offering an opportunity for the right Day Part Time Residential Support Workers to join our Outstanding CQC rated Residential Care Homes situated in Newark, Nottingham and in Norton Disney, Lincolnshire. We are looking for someone who is caring, innovative, dynamic, and highly motivated, who have an excellent understanding and experience of working and supporting young adults with severe learning disabilities and complex needs.
To work on a three-week rota, this includes one full day for training every three weeks. Average working hour for this position is
16 hours a week (**8.00am

  • 1.00pm, 8.00am 3.00pm on Early Shift pm 8.00pm on Late Shift
    ). We work on a banding system depending on your level of qualification and experience and salaries range between £7,987.20£8,320.00 **per annum.

Responsibilities for the Care Role Includes:

  • To support the residents to meet their needs in the most appropriate way by following individual care plans and the Witham Valley Care Group's policies and procedures.
  • Planning and supporting service users to access a variety of activities both within the home and out in the community.
  • Promote residents choice, independence, dignity, privacy and fulfilment of other rights.
  • Support residents to maintain their personal cleanliness, general hygiene and appearance as described within their individual care plans. This will include intimate care.
  • Maintaining the high standards of care that Witham Valley Care Group provides.

Essential Criteria for the Care Role Includes:

  • NVQ/QCF in Health & Social Care at Level 2 or above is desirable.
  • Previous experience as a care support worker or naturally caring and compassionate towards people in need of care and support.
  • Must have an excellent understanding and experience working young adult with learning disability, autism and other complex care needs.
  • Understanding of Safeguarding practice and willingness to undertake additional training in Safeguarding.
  • Must be enthusiastic, confident and resilient with the ability to follow positive behaviour support strategies when faced with behaviours of concern.
  • A real desire and capability to achieve the highest standards of care.
  • Excellent effective communication and collaborative skills.
  • Able to act in a professional manner at all times ensuring professional boundaries.

  • Driver not essential but will need to be able to get to work location.
