Role Summary

Department Information


The department is responsible for implementing software solutions for new as well as existing customers on multiple software platforms including EQAdministrator.


Core Duties/Responsibilities

To EQ Paymaster customers or prospective customers:

  • Deliver value to customers by advising on high quality software-based solutions. These may include workflow design and build, screen tailoring and configuration, or script-based executable rules.
  • Analyse and understand customer problems and opportunities, with reference to the life and pensions industry, and recommend how EQ Administrator can be used to meet customer needs.
  • Work collaboratively with customers throughout the full implementation lifecycle, from initial feasibility study through to full customer implementation, training and postimplementation support.
  • Provide support to customers in defining additional requirements and optimising their implementation. This includes tracking work through our Agile development and release lifecycle.
  • Work on customer sites when required, which may be for an extended period.
  • Identify training needs and deliver training to customers as part of project delivery.
  • Provide expertise and present demonstrations to prospective clients alongside colleagues from other parts of the business

Job Description:


  • Work in a project team to support the entire lifecycle of EQ Administrator implementation projects, from presales through to Production support
  • Review and understand customer IT and business requirements in respect of pension schemes or life and savings products (as relevant to the specific business area of work) and recommend how best they can be supported
  • Review and understand customer processes and procedures, map these to product functionality and identify possible system enhancements
  • Specify and write noncore code using technical language such as PL/SQL in order to support client business process implementations such as customerspecific complex workflows and documentation.
  • Support customers in the implementation of the EQ Administrator digital platform, utilising web skills to create and manage bespoke content.
  • Support customers carrying out data migration projects, including mapping existing system processes and data to our products and identifying conversion strategies and audit processes.
  • Provide customer postimplementation support/consultancy as required
  • Develop and deliver training courses for new customers or new releases/upgrades as required
  • Help customers prepare for future legislative and strategic change
  • Track and manage work against a budget, from producing estimates and securing customer budget approval through to recording and monitoring time spent. In larger projects, you will work with a project manager who will take responsibility for the budget.
  • Assist the Customer Relationship Management team in building and maintaining partnerships with customers, with a particular focus on understanding customers' daytoday operations and use of EQ Administrator
  • With sufficient experience, take on the role of Lead Consultant on a specific project.
In collaboration with the Project Manager, this position includes supervisory responsibility for: 1) Directing the team of consultants assigned to the project 2) Definingand communicating the tasks to be completed on each work stream 3) Tracking progress of the tasks on each work stream against timescale and quality constraints
