We are looking for a passionate and enthusiastic individual to provide a high level of administrative support as a Patient Pathway Coordinator and Medical Secretary within Paediatric Cardiology Service.
- Monitor and review patient care and/or treatment progress using the Patient Tracking List in line with Trust and local policies.
- Identify from the Tracking List the next steps in the patient care pathway in line with clinical need (peer review).
- Work as a team leader, providing a comprehensive secretarial/administration service to a number of consultants, clinicians and specialist nurses in respect to their general medical duties and specialist work.
- Type all clinical letters, which may include those of a distressing or emotional nature, as well as discharge summaries or other relevant correspondence and documents are required.

The Patient Pathway Coordinator and Medical Secretary will be an exciting and varied role, working closely with the Assistant Service Managers and booking team to support with validation and management of patient pathways, whilst taking on Medical Secretarial duties to support clinical teams with the administration of clinical letters and documentation.
The successful applicant will have the opportunity to work closely with administrative and clinical colleagues to support patients undergoing life changing treatment; enable smooth delivery of patient care; and suggest improvements to ensure patient pathways are managed safely, efficiently and in line with the Trust values.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work with others within different roles within the Trust are key to this position, as is strong administrative experience and the drive to improve patient care.
