We are AMS.Our Contingent Workforce Solutions (CWS) is one of our service offerings; we act as an extension of our clients' recruitment team and provide professional interim and temporary resources.
Our client is a globally respected engineering organisation, providing white collar, Blue collar and engineering services to many sectors including energy, aerospace, marine and defence.
At present we are looking for a
Lead Document Controller to work on our client's site in
Bristol on an initial
12-month contract.
What You'll Be Doing
- Manage/supervise the day to day Document Controllers providing guidance where required
- Follow project guidelines with ease to log in, record and upload deliverables
- Registers; Logs and Tracks TQs & RFIs using project processes
- Maintain project specific guidance notes and records
- Keep up to date with policy, procedure and seek advice with problems.
- Record and submit time spent on projects
- As a Document Controller you will plan own workload
- Access guidance on standards for collaboration
- Identify issues and deal with them independently or escalate where appropriate
- Attend and contribute to local Document Control team meetings
Key Skills and experience required (E.G skilled or unskilled)
- Experience with Aerospace Engineering documentation and drawings.
- Experience as a team leader.
- Qualified to Degree Level or other relevant Higher-Level Education Qualification or equivalent industry experience
- Ability to communicate clear goals and deadlines to team members
- Ability to plan workloads, breaking down into tasks and delegating tasks using planning tools such as MS project/P6 Primavera producing plans.
- Ability to prioritise tasks through understanding complexity of the tasks and relationship to deadlines.
- Prioritising tasks through assessment with senior leadership.
- Prioritising through an understanding of task business value etc.
- Creating a productive work environment for the team using gamification, trust and other appropriate strategies (team building events).
- Reporting to leadership using visual management and KPIs, acting on KPIs to guide the team/leadership and performance.
- Using 4 boxers, Gantt charts etc. to communicate progress.
- Using one to ones and check ins to manage team performance.
- Providing teams with information about recent developments, programmes and policy changes of senior leadership.
- Using daily stand ups and team meetings to communicate to the team.
- Identifying help needed and requesting help from senior leadership where problems are identified by the team.
- Ability to coach and train employees > using one to ones, planned or adhoc
