What you will do:
  • Work with various stakeholders to make sure that excellent customer service is delivered at all times
  • Owning any queries relating to mortgage origination, whether they are from store colleagues, brokers or our colleagues in Mortgage Distribution team
  • Interpret mortgage offer conditions and liaising with solicitors in line with the UK finance handbook, to assess the risk to the bank in each property transaction, while taking appropriate decisions within your mandate
  • Make sure that the mortgage conduct of business (MCOB) compliance is observed at all times
  • Reviewing procedures and challenging processes in order to improve both our colleague and customer journey

What you will need:
  • Experience working in a mortgage environment is essential
  • Knowledge of MCOB, TCF and MMR, and of on boarding mortgage customers (KYC)
  • An ability to make decisions, confidently referring to documentation to assist as needed
  • You will be a proactive team player who can make sense of complex information as well as being able to work independently to tight deadlines
  • Extensive experience talking to customers and providing amazing customer service
  • You may have a CeMAP qualification or similar, though this is not an essential requirement
  • To understand the risks associated with your job and what that means for you, Metro Bank and all our stakeholders
