As our Deputy Head of School, you will support the Head of School for Adult Education and lead on the Community Learning and ASB direct and sub-contracted delivery for South Thames College.


The focus is on ensuring that current and future students receive a first-class experience that enables them to progress and attain their qualifications and to develop long-lasting learning and employability skills.

Success is measured in terms of meaningful progression in education and training and destination into further education and/or employment.


You will combine leadership and management of your curriculum with being a member of the School Management Group and a wider operational role for the College.

You will be responsible for the effective management of the Adult & Community Education delivery including oversight of recruitment, enrolment, retention, achievement and success at all related delivery sites and liaise with the Head of School in regard to budgeting, performance and partnership management.

You will be responsible for the development of an adult and community learning provision of a high standard that meets local needs, and the priorities of the commissioning team for both Merton Borough Adult Learning and Wandsworth Council Lifelong Learning.


We'd like our Deputy Head of School to hold relevant professional qualifications and have proven experience of effective teamwork, both as the leader of a team of staff and as part of a team.

With a strong track record of leading and managing change, you will be able to identify interventions for needed improvements and execute them effectively.
