We have a vacancy for a Learning Support / Teaching Assistant to provide one to one support for up to four students with complex special education needs.
Reporting to our SENCO, we are seeking enthusiastic Learning Support Assistants to join a high performing and dedicated team.You will already have experience and enjoy both the challenge and reward of working with young people with complex SEND needs.
You should be prepared to work with students across the age range.You will have the ability to work with the team in the preparation of individual learning plans and learning resources, including supporting the preparation of students for GCSE examinations.

Contract:
Permanent contract, Full-time 40.75 hours per week
Working hours:
Monday - Thursday 8.15am - 4.30pm and Friday 8.15am - 3.30pm
Start date: 29 August 2023
Salary:
Competitive, plus daily meal allowance

Person specification
The person we are looking for should have:
Qualifications and experience
Essential:
Experience of working with young people with complex SEND
Experience of working in a school environment
Good numeracy, literacy and communication skills
Level 2 (GCSE) minimum qualification in English, Mathematics + 3 other qualifications at grade C or higher
Desirable:
Experience delivering literacy-based interventions
Familiarity with GCSE examination specifications
Good knowledge of ICT to support learning
Knowledge and understanding
Essential:
High standard of literacy and numeracy
Be able to understand and interpret reports/ data
Ability to communicate information clearly and coherently; ability to listen effectively
Overcome communication barriers with young people with complex SEND needs
Understand and support the importance of physical and emotional wellbeing
Communicate and build positive relationships/ rapport with young people, their families and carers and other professionals who support the young people
Understand and implement the college's behaviour management & anti-bullying policy
Ability to understand and support children with developmental difficulty or disability
Ability to work effectively and positively with a range of staff/ other professionals
Respect confidentiality. Know when, how and with whom to share information
