My client is a hugely successful power distribution company who are continuing to grow. As part of their growth plans they are seeking a Production Manager to join their Management team. Working with the Management Team to maintain the smooth productionof products for all Low Voltage Switchgear Projects. The responsibilities will include the following and other duties as determined by the requirements of the business.

  • Planning / Management of Low Voltage Switchgear Production activities.
  • Production Planning of HV & LV Package Substations
  • LV Switchgear
  • Sub Distribution & Control Panel Solutions.
  • Booking and Planning Production labour.
  • Labour Resource Planning to meet contract targets (organisation of agreed overtime with Project Management & Production Team).
  • Control of production time scales to meet contract deadlines.
  • Liaise and organise staff to allow continuity of existing production commitments.
  • Project Management liaison.
  • Booking and Planning Production materials completion reports.
  • Booking of Test/ Quality Engineers for Pre FAT's.
  • Collation of Quality & Test Paperwork from the above and delivery to Project Managers.
  • Liaison with Operations Manager / relevant Engineer on a weekly basis for contract specific product requirements.
  • Regular liaison with shop floor supervisors for production updates.
  • Design review hand over from Project Managers.
  • Working with the design and project management team to assist in the manufacture and design of bespoke equipment to meet customers specifications.
  • Ensure that all shopfloor staff are following H & S, ISO and ISS Quality Procedures.
  • Management of timesheet collection from Staff
  • Taking an active role in the development and training of all apprenticeship and newly recruited staff.
  • Reporting to Project Management on a weekly basis within weekly production meetings.
  • Control of production activities quality to meet BS EN 61439 Specifications along with internal ISS Quality Engineer.
  • Management of Specific Product Materials as required through Store person.
  • Responsibility of managing projects from project handover to site team.
  • Management of supplier deliveries.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, quality and environmental policies of ISS and its customers.
This is an office-based position but on occasion the requirement to visit another site may apply.


Experience / Requirements:
Electrical Engineering Qualification

Experience of working in a managerial role

Ability to read schematic wiring diagrams

Experience in Microsoft Office package

A knowledge of Switchgear Engineering Design of New LV Switchgear Projects & Control Schemes
