Contracts Officers X2: Fixed Term Contract until November 2026

Your New Role:

Southend Council is looking to appoint two full-time, contract experienced officers in a fixed-term capacity until November 2026. You will have the opportunity to work in a hybrid environment with flexible working arrangements. However, you are required to be onsite at the Civic Centre for a minimum of two days per week.

This role involves ensuring effective commercial management of public health, social care contracts and grants. This includes managing contracts, monitoring progress, and negotiating with suppliers to maximise public funds. You will assess demand and supply data to inform market development and create contract monitoring plans. You will also contribute to the commissioning team at all levels within the council and wider health and care system.

What You'll Need to Succeed:

Prior experience in contract management within a social care setting
Advanced administration skills, including processing market data, public health, commissioning, and funding knowledge

The successful candidate will need to work under pressure, managing a caseload that meets council financial objectives while considering the welfare of people receiving social care support services.
