As we continue to expand, we are seeking a skilled Bookkeeper to join our team and support our day-to-day financial operations.


Responsibilities:

As a Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for managing the financial transactions and maintaining accurate records for our business


Your key duties include:

  • Completing daily bookkeeping tasks for all businesses owned by Gilbert and Rose such as, posting sales invoices, purchase invoices, and reconciling various bank accounts.
  • Ensuring that transactions are accurately posted to the correct nominal accounts.
  • Preparing and submitting VAT returns for all business activities.
  • Manage the sales ledger, ensuring uptodate debtors information is kept up to date.
  • Preparing and sending statements to customers when required.
  • Manage purchase ledger, ensuring creditors information is kept up to date.
  • Prepare and execute payment runs.
  • Efficiently handling employee expense claims.
  • Reconciling the business's intercompany loan accounts.
  • Analyse bookkeeping data into financial statements format to report back to directors on the overall performance of the business.
  • Post and review month end journals to ensure accuracy in financial records.
  • Preparing monthly payroll run alongside pension submission and oversight of automatic enrolment duties.
  • Processing sick pay (SSP), maternity pay (SMP) and other payroll related responsibilities.
  • Advising directors of PAYE liabilities in a timely manner.
  • Maintain a full and accurate audit trail by filing and referencing documents.
  • Assist the accountant with administrative duties for them to prepare end of year accounts.
  • Advise managers of any outstanding financial issues.
  • Undertaking adhoc duties as required to support the financial operations of the business.

Skills and experience:

To excel in this role, you should possess the following skills and experience:

  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in bookkeeping and processing payroll.
  • Proficiency (3+ years) in using accounting software such as Sage Business Cloud Accounting, BrightPay Software along side BrightPay connect, Smart Pension and Auto-Entry.
  • Level 3 AAT or QBE equivalent.
  • A high level of working knowledge of accounting principles and regulations.
  • A keen eye for detail and exceptional problemsolving skills.
  • Selfmotivated, with the ability to work on own initiative.
  • Strong multitasking and time management skills to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills in English.
  • Excellent numeracy and IT skills.
  • Good organisational and administrative abilities.
  • The ability to prioritise tasks effectively to meet deadlines.
Working Hours: 3x days per week 09:00am - 18:00pm


Salary:
£30,000 - £40,000 Pro Rata (dependent on experience)
