The role holder should strengthen current IT practices, maintain a culture of sharing and be keen to develop new technical skills.
An understanding of emerging technologies and approaches will be essential to enhance the department and deliver value.
The role requires a significant understanding of both computer and network security, exposure to network technologies is essential for the role holder to be successful.
- Provide businessasusual / breakfix support for solutions deployed within the company, ensuring that requests logged via the Service Desk platform are completed based on impact and priority.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any IT service issues related to the UNIX infrastructure, WIFI, LAN & Firewall
- Implement enhancement to existing technologies.
- Research, evaluate and implement new technologies.
- Contribute to technology roadmaps for core IT services.
- Contribute to the IT enhancement backlog.
- Contribute to root cause analysis activities.
- Proactively communicate the status, plan of action(s), and resolution(s) of issues.
- Create, review, and maintain system documentation.
- Report on the health of IT services.
- Understanding of Industry trends and emerging threats
- Experience of interpreting information from security analysis tools
Qualifications:
- A Minimal four years' experience in IT role
- Experienced level demonstrated through certification(s)
- Technical administration roles covering Hardware and Software.
- Network support, design, and implementation (LAN & WAN& Firewall)
- Administration Network infrastructure. (Preferably Cisco)
- Wireless infrastructure (preferably Aruba).
- Firewall Administration (Preferably Checkpoint)
- Use or ability to learn scripting (Bash/Python) / automation languages (puppet, foreman)
- Supporting NetApp storage (NAS / SAN)
- Proxy and web filtering
- Virtualisation/Container technologies (VMware Preferable)
- Backup technologies (BackupExec / Veeam /NetVault Preferable)
- Access control & Threat mitigation
- Strong technical problemsolving skills and experience
- Articulate and capable communicator with teamworking skills.
- Strong logical and analytical thinker.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Good verbal and written Communication skills with the ability to explain at different technical abilities.
- Strong teamworking and provision of guidance/support to junior team members.
- To work independently and within team to complete project deliverables in accordance with timelines
- Poise under pressure and comfort with ambiguity.
