Key responsibilities
To provide leadership through partnering our stores in the delivery of store maintenance to the national estate.

Responsible for London and the South East, you will be keeping our stores trading and ensuring that we provide a safe and well-maintained environment.

This will be through both preventative and reactive maintenance whilst also delivering capital projects.

  • To own the full provision of maintenance and service to your store allocation
  • Liaise with and understand internal customer needs and deliver an FM service that supports our retail operations
  • Carry out and at regular intervals, update store condition surveys for allocated stores
  • Monitor and maintain condition of the store estate within allocated responsibilities to agreed standards
  • React to property related issues, manage and provide solutions for repair or replacement, with priority to H&S, Security, light and heat and trading
  • Utilise and emaintenance system to manage delivery of FM activity to allocated stores
  • Prepare reports and plans for the property senior FM to support asset and maintenance strategy
  • Monitor performance and standards of controller base within remit ensuring compliance to Health & Safety and B&Q contractual requirements and feedback to specification and standards team
  • Accountable for delivering accurate control and reporting of allocated spend vs budgets
  • Deliver a reactive repair service that maximises return on investment and minimises impact to stores
  • Delivery of minor capital property projects to agreed time, cost and quality
  • Support construction and maintenance team with development of Shell and fit out specifications
  • Suggest and implement property measures to reduce costs or impact to other cost lines such as insurance
  • Provide information to contracts team regarding future vendor and contract requirements
  • Provide property management team with technical support and advice regarding landlord and estates issues
  • To provide and out of hours emergency on call service as part of a department rota as directed by the Lead Store Maintenance Partner

Required skills & experience

  • Customer (internal Retail operations), focused, responding promptly with technical advice and customer focussed solutions to support retail
  • Technical facilities and fit out knowledge
  • Knowledge of relevant health and safety legislation and company procedures
  • Analytical and accurate with attention to detail. Able to create and manage programmes of work.
  • Excellent organisation skills with the ability to prioritise workload activities and contractor bases
  • Previous property maintenance experience
  • Communicates and influences others simply and clearly, building confidence and credibility both written and verbally
  • Challenges in a positive and constructive manner
  • Solves problems by making decisions based on factual data and evidence ensuring solutions once determined are achieved promptly
  • Builds short and mediumterm plans to deliver activities and monitors and reports progress against them. Strives to exceed targets and to deliver continuous improvement through identifying projects
