As a Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer working for a longstanding and highly reputable company in Bury St Edmunds, you will be completing electrical and mechanical preventative and predictive tasks as well as providing technical support during major plantissues or machine breakdowns.

Call outs are a rare occasion


In addition to carrying out your duties in a clean and modern manufacturing facility, you will also manage OpEx budgets, manage external contractors and perform regular fire alarm tests.

If you have a strong mechanical maintenance experience on manufacturing machines and equipment as well as a strong electrical understanding, wanting a long term role and some variety, this role could be for you


What you will be doing:


  • Complete scheduled PPM to ensure downtime is minimised and a quality focused and costeffective manner
  • Providing technical support during major plant issues and breakdowns
  • Complete fault finding and diagnostic checks both mechanically and electronically on various production machinery
  • Develop PPM strategies which delivers optimal MTBF and MTTR for all major assets on site
  • Continuously looking to improve procedures and processes
  • Liaise and communicate with contractors on maintenance issues
  • Manage OpEx budget for site maintenance
  • Perform regular testing of fire safety systems
  • Attend OOH in instances of plant faliure

About you:


  • Previous experience as a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer in manufacturing with a Mechanical bias
  • Strong knowledge of Electrics 3phase, single phase and industrial wiring
  • Ability to fault find, have strong problem solving skills and confident in completing diagnostic checks
  • Keen to learn and take on extra responsibilities
  • Experience with welding/fabrication would be an advantage
