Description

About the Role

The role is full time and fixed term to May 2026 in line with the term of the University's Local and Global Engagement Officer, as there is a roughly 50/50 split in responsibilities between the Local and Global Engagement programme of work and that of the Vice-Chancellor.

The Vice-Chancellor is the Chief Executive of the University, and her office is high-profile and public-facing, handling an exceptionally wide range of business, much of which is confidential and/or of a time-sensitive nature.

The post-holder will be working in a dynamic, fast-paced office, and will have a key role to play in delivering the Vice-Chancellor's strategic agenda.

This includes the work of the Local and Global Engagement Officer, who joined the Vice-Chancellor's senior team in May 2023 to advance the University's collective ambitions around local, national and global engagement.

The Vice-Chancellor's Office sits alongside the offices of the Registrar and Pro-Vice-Chancellor in the University Offices, Wellington Square, but there may occasionally be a need to work at the office in the Clarendon Building.

What we offer

  • Cycle loan scheme
  • Discounted bus travel and season ticket travel loans
  • Membership to a variety of social and sports clubs

About You

The post holder will have excellent communication, organisation and prioritisation skills and will be able to work effectively under pressure.

We are looking for someone adept at managing a wide range of relationships (both upwards and across), who can exercise a high level of discretion and sound judgement.

Application Process

Interviews will take place during week commencing 8 January 2024 and will be face to face in central Oxford, or online if required.
