As Technical Support Officer you will support the delivery of the safety maintenance service. The role will support the Inspection and Winter manager in delivering the winter and maintenance service.
The condition of the city's highway network affects all residents, businesses and visitors, so you'll be joining a service in the public eye.
Your organisational abilities and can do approach will be as important as your communication skills and experience working with a wide range of stakeholders.
You will be based in our modern, open plan offices in the city centre and benefit from flexible working, including home-working.
Joining an enthusiastic and supportive team, you'll collaborate with colleagues from a range of fields, working closely with other Transport services to deliver transport infrastructure changes across the city.
In light of the Covid-19 pandemic special arrangements will be made with respect to interviews, ensuring a safe interview process and equality of access for all participants.
You will be responsible for:
- Managing contacts from residents who write in reporting defects on the highway
- Assisting with the administration across the team
- Ensuring training regimes are up to date, and training booked as when necessary
- Supporting the team in ensuring they can safely inspect the highway
- Assisting the team when necessary to perform the winter maintenance function
- Working with the Asset team to improve/ support the way we deliver inspections

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is less than 37 hours or term-time only.
