As part of our work, we deliver Innovate UK EDGE in the South West of England on behalf of Innovate UK.

We are now looking for three Ecosystem Specialists to join our Innovate UK EDGE team.

Ecosystem Specialist - Marine. A focus on SMEs, financial institutions, government bodies and regional actors operating in the SW marine ecosystem.

Ecosystem Specialist - Gloucestershire. A focus on scaling and growing SMEs, financial institutions government bodies and regional actors operating in the Gloucestershire region.

Ecosystem Specialist - Bristol A focus on scaling and growing SMEs, financial institutions government bodies and regional actors operating in the Bristol area.

Your Role

As an Ecosystem Specialist working within the Innovate UK EDGE service, you will support some of the most ambitious, innovative SMEs in the South West, and help them to grow and scale.

A key part of the role is to work closely with financial and regional stakeholders to create collaborative solutions, that drive innovation and support our SME community.

You will work closely with businesses to help them fully understand the financial options appropriate to support their growth and provide advice and mentoring growth by harnessing the regional ecosystem, in particular funding and financial institutions and regional actors.

Specifically, you will:

Provide specialist finance innovation and growth support and advice to SME's on a onetoone basis
Support SME clients to gain an understanding of the innovation and commercial finance ecosystem
Collaborate with the regional ecosystem to form alliances and relationships that will help innovative businesses identify commercial opportunities and sources of finance and support.
Upskill clients on best practice related to raising finance.
Liaise with other departments, to ensure sharing of useful information.

About You

To be considered as an Ecosystem Specialist, you will need proven experience of supporting and advising SMEs throughout the business lifecycle and demonstrate a good understanding of relevant funding and finance and the actors involved in the regional and national ecosystems.
