Leisure & Culture Dundee is a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO) SC It was established by Dundee City Council in July 2011 to deliver leisure, sports, library, information and cultural services for the city.


Leisure and Culture Dundee, in partnership with Dundee City Council, is looking to recruit an Active Schools Assistant to join our successful Active Schools Team.

Working 37 hours per week term time plus (45 weeks) within the Active Schools Team, located at various schools in Dundee.

This is a 12-month fixed term post. For existing Leisure and Culture Dundee and Dundee City Council employees' secondments will be considered.


Requirements:

SVQ Level 3 in a Sport or physical activity related field and/or work-related experience.


Responsibilities:


As part of a dynamic Leisure and Sport Section, you will contribute to the section's social objectives by developing programmes and activities with schools within the Active Schools services.


You will develop and introduce a range of programmes, events and festivals and identify opportunities to improve the services and increase lifelong participation for Dundee children.


The Individual:

Practical experience in sports coaching and organising participation programmes, events and festivals is essential.

You will have experience of supporting coaches or volunteers and marketing and promoting activities / programmes. You should also have the ability to use a variety of software packages, including Microsoft Word.


In addition, you will have good communication skills, both verbal and written, good presentation and people skills, have the ability to organise, be adaptable, diplomatic and approachable.


You must be willing to work flexible hours including weekend work where required, and be willing to undertake personal development.
