Description

We have 1 full time role (37.5 hours per week) and 1 part time role (30 hours per week) available.

Are you passionate about making a lasting difference to the lives of vulnerable adults?
Housing First is an innovative and exciting long-term approach to supporting the most, excluded and hard to reach clients. We are looking for someone committed and focused to join our Hackney Housing First team.

The Housing First service aims to support clients with multiple disadvantages by working in partnership with landlords and other services to secure independent accommodation, and provide an intensive and client-led holistic support package.

This support requires a flexible, pro-active, creative and personalised approach.

The service aims to provide open-ended support to the client so they can build on their recovery capital whilst managing or working towards their own property both in and outside of the borough of Westminster.

In the role of Housing First Worker:

  • You will be responsible for the day to day delivery of the service managing a small caseload of clients.
  • You will deliver ongoing and intensive support to help your clients set up their home, with the overall goal of supporting them to sustain their tenancy and achieve individual goals and aspirations.
  • Work with a person centred and psychologically informed approach to support clients in their own homes as well as in the community.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with local partner agencies to support clients throughout their recovery.
  • Working hours are Monday-Friday 9am5pm.

About you:

  • Experience of working with vulnerable people; motivating and empowering complex and diverse client groups to sustain housing, health and/or work outcomes.
  • Great communication, influencing and reasoning skills, with the ability to build relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • The ability to work independently and to be comfortable as a lone worker when required.
  • The ability to manage your own caseload with an assertive, flexible and innovative approach to providing tailored and bespoke support.
  • Excellent planning, organisational and recording skills to meet the needs of competing tasks in a sometimes pressurised environment.
