We are seeking a Head of Quality with a current and valid NMC pin number, excellent clinical skills, and previous experience in managing care outcomes and people.

About the role:

The post holder must have proven management skills, a positive, can-do attitude, knowledge of the Care Quality Commission (CQC) regulations and other relevant legislation (including the Health & Safety Executive (HSE) requirements), a strong understanding of governance, clinical skills, and a passion for elderly care.

You will be expected to provide leadership on all issues relating to clinical excellence, including mentoring, and teaching staff, conducting supervisions as required, auditing care outcomes, reviewing medication administration, resident care plans and risk assessments.

You will be a role model to all other staff working within the villages and help to create an open, positive, and inclusive atmosphere.

You will also be expected to build strong relationships with all stakeholders, such as GPs, local authorities, the Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG), Safeguarding of Vulnerable Adults (SVA) team and CQC.

You will co-ordinate all aspects of Quality and Safety within the Company framework.

This will include further development, evaluation and monitoring of audit strategies, policy and procedure development and review, supporting risk management, resident experience, complaint responses, staff experience, clinical effectiveness, and quality.

The Head of Quality will ensure that consistent after-incident processes are in place, ensure emerging themes are identified and shared and recommendations are put into practice.

You will also support innovative ways to capture residents' experience of care, analyse and prepare the data, and present feedback to local and umbrella governance.

About you:

The right to live and work in the UK
Strong clinical skills with a current and valid NMC pin number
Understanding of CQC requirements, SVA, HSE requirements and other relevant legislation
Excellent communication, teamwork, and management skills

Experience, skills, and knowledge required for the role

Must be registered with a clinical body and perform the appropriate level of clinical activity to maintain this registration
Previous experience of working in a leadership quality role in health and in particular nursing homes and retirement living
You will need to be a proactive, friendly, and professional person who is confident managing their own workload
The role also involves travelling to villages (3), so a full UK driving license is a must
If you have held a role as an auditor in healthcare, this will be advantageous
