We are currently representing one of the UK's leading residential property management companies, sourcing a Group Reporting Manager to join the team in for a maternity cover role.
We are ideally looking for someone to start ASAP for a duration of 18 monthsto ensure a thorough handover during year end.
- Leading the Group Reporting functions including month end reporting cycles, yearend reporting, external audit, company secretary, corporation tax and other indirect taxes.
- Coaching and lead the Group reporting team.
- Building relationships with senior internal stakeholders including CEO, CFO, exec team and finance leaders.
This role reports to the Head of Group Reporting and has a team of 5 direct reports and 1 indirect report.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Liaise with external financial auditors, coordinate audit requests across the team & assist with preparing audit & accounting papers
- Prepare the group consolidated accounts & entity statutory accounts
- Help draft & shape accounting policies
- Provide technical accounting advice on key transactions or changes in accounting standards.
- Assist with tax queries from external tax advisors to finalise yearly corporation tax returns
- Responsible for the monthend process ensuring all tasks are completed by the team within the timetable
- Ownership of the accounting system (Navision) and integrity of data within the system
- Responsible for the billing function (managed by billing supervisor) & enhancements of billing processes within the system
- Guide and help with developing the management accountant's skillset & knowledge base
- Assist with yearend audit & any adhoc tasks / analysis & project work
- Assist with transition from UK GAAP to IFRS
- Drive process improvements within the Group Reporting team
CANDIDATE PROFILE / REQUIREMENTS
- Professional qualification in accountancy (ACA preferable, ACCA or CIMA)
- Minimum 2 years' post qualified experience
- Technically strong financial accountant
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
- Prior experience transitioning from UK GAAP to IFRS would be an advantage
- Team management of part qualified and qualified accountants
- Knowledge of Microsoft Navision and / or CCH would be an advantage
- Prior experience in a management accountant team, actively preparing schedules and journals for month end
- Highly motivated and proactive selfstarter who has demonstrable ability to work to tight deadlines.
- Friendly professional manner, comfortable communicating with peers, other departments and external stakeholders
- Inquisitive nature, keen problem solver
- Clear leadership experience with evidence of managing and growing high performing teams.
CONTRACT, HOURS, SALARY & LOCATION
- 18month Fixed Term Contract
- The working hours are 9:00am 5:00pm, Monday to Friday (some extended hours may be expected during year end)
- Predominantly remote role, with maximum 1 day a month in London (Kings Cross) office
