Python Developer / Data Engineer - Outside IR3- Edinburgh - Occasional travel to office required

  • 6month initial contract
  • Immediate Start


Seasoned Developer / Data Engineer with broad experience of Python required for our public sector client, embarking on a huge growth period and evolution to work on their Data domain function across Data Warehousing.


The aim of the role will be to develop and support high quality and resilient digital products in a multi-functional.

collaborative and agile team. You will Develop and deliver resilient solutions to integrate fata into the internal data warehouse and tosupport delivery of data products and services


Significant commercial experience with Python, REST APIs as well as modern DevOps and CI/CD practices is essential for this role.

Experience implementing data ETLs, data streaming systems and data integration solutions are also essential, as is working toAgile methodologies.


Essential Skills

  • Python
  • PostgreSQL/PostGIS
  • REST APIs
  • Modern DevOps and CI/CD practices including deploying pipelines, Jenkins and Docker
  • Experience implementing data ETLs, data streaming systems and data integration solutions
  • Experience working in Agile delivery models
  • TDD/BDD
  • Collaboration skills

Desirable Skills

  • Java
  • AWS, S3, CDK and CloudFormation
  • Spark
  • OpenShift
  • Monitoring, alerting, intelligence tools and processes, including Grafana
