The Role:

We're seeking a Senior L&D Business Partner to lead Soft Skills & Leadership Development initiatives within our UK Ports.

Take charge of shaping early careers across the business and fostering growth by seamlessly integrating technical and soft skill expertise.

Your role will be pivotal in nurturing emerging leaders, bridging skill gaps, and promoting collaboration.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Craft and implement dynamic programs that empower early career talent across UK ports. Integrate technical and soft skills for comprehensive development that extends beyond to other areas.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to embed rolespecific skills into customised learning experiences. Elevate performance and align learning outcomes with business objectives.
  • Guide emerging leaders through their journey in the bustling ports and logistics landscape. Blend technical proficiency with effective leadership practices.
  • Form partnerships with the People Team, managers, and industry experts to design learning paths that bridge evolving skill gaps in both soft and technical domains.
  • Strengthen early career cohorts by fostering collaboration, adaptability, and innovation and build our talent of the future.
  • Utilise datadriven insights to refine and enhance programs, ensuring a lasting and meaningful skill development process.
  • Contribute expertise to broader HR projects, fostering positive organisational change by aligning initiatives with goals and integrating technical and soft skill growth.
  • Collaborate closely with suppliers to deliver impactful technical and soft skills training and leverage feedback data to optimise supplier selection and ensure best practices
  • Align initiatives with global and regional L&D requirements. Maintain consistency and relevance across the organization.
  • Strategically leverage the apprenticeship levy to maximize employee development opportunities. Cater to both technical and soft skill needs.
  • Conduct actual L&D workshops on various topics, ensuring handson skill building.
  • Provide coaching to managers, enhancing their leadership and soft skills.

Your Skills:


  • Design impactful soft skills and leadership programs, integrating technical learning seamlessly.
  • Create engaging learning journeys encompassing both technical and soft skill development.
  • Empower emerging leaders by blending leadership skills with technical expertise.
  • Collaborate effectively to amplify program effectiveness across skill domains.
  • Drive continuous program enhancement using datadriven insights.
  • Expertly manage suppliers to optimize skills delivery and alignment.
  • Align initiatives with global and regional L&D standards and industry best practices.

Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree in HR, organisational development, or demonstrable experience.
  • Proven track record in executing impactful soft skills and leadership programs with integrated technical learning.
  • Systemsavvy with strong MS Office skills.
  • Demonstrable experience of using an LMS to provide data, metrics and L&D related reporting to help improve and drive performance and programmes.
  • Have a desire and ability to work in a fast paces and complex environment.
  • Comprehensive understanding of embedding essential competencies, linking technical and soft skill domains.
  • Excellent communication, influencing and relationship building skills for effective stakeholder collaboration.
  • Adaptability to industry shifts and evolving skill requirements.
  • Strong supplier management skills to ensure effective skills delivery.
  • Capable of aligning initiatives with global and regional L&D requirements.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and influencing skills, with the ability to build relationships and establish credibility at all levels of the organization

You will have:


  • Ability to travel across the UK as per business needs (Essex & Southampton) including wider UK business sites in the South of England
  • A full UK driving licence
  • Eligibility to work in the UK
