Hutcheon Mearns are delighted to be supporting Voyager Life Plc to recruit the company's first Chief Operating Officer (COO) due to recent investment and ambitious growth plans.

Established in 2020, Voyager Life Plc is a health and wellness business focused on CBD and hemp products. The company has quickly grown to be one of the very few vertically integrated businesses in this industry. Initially offering sales through retail, online and third parties, the business now owns an extraction facility based in Poland. Voyager also has at its reach a distribution network in the UK and Europe and including in-house manufacturing.

As well as creating products for their own brands, Voyager provide white label and private label services for other complimentary businesses.


In this highly visible and prominent position, the successful individual will work closely with the CEO to ensure that current operations run smoothly and will support the delivery of services and products to Voyager's growing and diverse customer base.

The COO will also be responsible for delivering both operational and strategic objectives, through inspirational leadership underpinned by strong commercial acumen.

Overview

  • Running the daytoday of operational aspects of the business to facilitate and support the CEO, strategic thinking, increasing the efficiency of existing processes and procedures to enhance our internal capacity
  • Being part of the Senior Leadership Team, maintaining constant communication with customers and other stakeholders to ensure proper operations of the company
  • Identifying opportunities to provide services through business development, customer management and via own networks
  • Leading team on tenders and proposals and executing delivery of projects. Arranging the operational and project needs of the company alongside the sales and marketing team
  • Managing, motivating, and supporting the Voyager team within a timesensitive and demanding environment, including coaching and mentoring other staff
  • Improving our customer communications and processes, leading weekly team meetings, and putting in place more robust ways in how we manage customers
  • Manufacturing/retail/healthcare exposure and experience
  • Batchelor or Master degree with proven experience
  • Managing projects and leading a small team
  • Strong leadership and organisational skills, passionate about leading and mentoring a team


This represents and exciting and rewarding opportunity for someone with a proven track record in an operationally focused senior management position.

Previous experience in manufacturing / retail would be highly advantageous.
