The Role
At Easby Electronics we are seeking a Buyer to join our purchasing team.

The role will involve working closely internally with purchasing, sales, warehouse and finance colleagues, and externally with suppliers and customers.


We are a successful, growing company, and this role will support our core business of electronic component distribution, by ensuring we can source and deliver the items our customers need.


Key Responsibilities

  • Stock ordering and backtoback ordering
  • Negotiating with suppliers to achieve value for money, including on payment, delivery and shipping terms
  • Reviewing lead times, minimum order quantities, shipping etc. to ensure the most suitable supplier is selected
  • Liaising and negotiating with shipping companies
  • Monitoring stock levels
  • Maintaining and managing purchase orders
  • Building and maintaining excellent relationships with suppliers (both adhoc and franchise suppliers), customers and colleagues
  • Ship and debit
  • Supporting the purchasing manager and wider team with adhoc tasks as required

The Person
The key skills, knowledge and experience we're looking for are:

  • Experience of procurement
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Good organisational skills; able to manage own time and work effectively
  • Strong team player
  • Commitment to continuous improvement
  • Experience within electronic components distribution is advantageous but not essential
