First Light Fusion is a world-class fusion development company based near Oxford currently embarking on the design and construction of a large-scale prototype (called M4 Machine).

This will be a ground-breaking scientific and engineering project and represent a major step towards the establishment of fusion as a clean energy source.

Responsibilities will include:

We are looking for a M4 Project Execution Lead whose responsibilities will include:

Project Management of the M4 project (multi £100s million pounds of CAPEX) and ensure timely delivery to time, cost, and quality.
Leading all activities associated with land acquisition, planning consent, design of the facility housing the machine (the design of the machine itself will be carried out by a specialist team), construction, test, and commissioning.
Managing the interfaces between the development of the scientific equipment and M4 machine with the rest of the facility
Management of key stakeholders associated with the project.

Essential:

Have significant experience in the execution of major projects with complex requirements from concept to planning consent, procurement, construction and start of operation.
Have demonstrable experience in the management of multidisciplinary design and construction activities in a high requirement environment.
Have a strong sense of how to organise and run large projects coupled with the flexibility of working in a field with parallel R&D elements.
Have a strong grasp of managing Quality, Health and Safety, Security and Environment requirements.
Be a team player, ready to adapt to the needs of the project and a good communicator.
