In Health, we have been commissioned by NHS England and different Cancer Alliances, to deliver national cancer screening and early detection programmes in the community, along with different screening take-up breast, bowel, and cervical screening calling projects across London.

Job Description:


About the Role
As the Cancer Facilitator, you will be reporting directly to the Health Programme Co-ordinator.

You will be responsible for supporting, educating, and influencing, primary care teams, health professionals, and local health systems, to improve cancer services in line with the North East London (NEL) Cancer Alliance programmes of work and strategy.


Main Duties & Accountabilities
This role would suit a proactive individual who can:

  • Provide support to Primary Care Networks (PCNs) in interpreting the requirements of the PCN Directed Enhanced Services (DES) for Early Cancer Diagnosis, including supporting the prioritisation and development of projects.
  • Attend the NEL Cancer Alliance Primary Care Leads Meeting, and Prevention, Awareness and Screening Programme Delivery Group
  • Facilitate improvement in cancer screening, prevention, and early diagnosis.
  • Provide valuable practical support for quality improvement.
  • Lead educational sessions supporting cancer prevention, screening, recognition, and referral.
  • Work in partnership with primary and secondary care to support and promote more effective ways of working across the patient pathway.
  • Understand and share best practice and innovations.
  • Share key data (including referral patterns) with PCNs.
  • Work with PCNs to support a reduction in health inequalities.

Qualifications:


Essential:


  • Undergraduate degree.
  • Evidence of continual professional development

Desirable:


  • Postgraduate Degree
  • Project Management Qualification e.g. Prince2/PMP

Additional Information

Salary:£40,000 per annum

Contract: Full time - fixed term, two years

Reports to: Health Programme Co-ordinator
-
Place of work:Community Links (E16), with a minimum of three days a week in the office.


Salaries are paid directly into employees' bank accounts at monthly intervals, payment being made on the 23rd of each month.

  • 28 days annual leave + bank holidays, rising to 33 days with service (prorata)
