Support Worker/Buddy

Location:
Maidstone

Hours: 9.5 hrs per week

Tuesday 8.30am pm

Salary
- £13 per hour (£123.50 per Tuesday)

Criteria

Must hold a UK driving licence
Personal Care involved
Must have the right to work in the UK

This is a fun and rewarding opportunity to support a child with complex needs on a 1:1 basis.

William is an observant, chatty 13 yr old boy who has severe cognitive and executive impairments arising as a consequence of an acquired brain injury.

William lives in the family home with his younger sibling.

As his Support Worker, you will be supporting William to participate in activities he enjoys and have meaningful experiences.

You will support him to make his own choices of how he wants to spend his Tuesdays, but a typical day in this role might be spent:

Swimming
Going for a walk in the park
Shopping at the toy store
Using the iPad and Switch
Eating out.
Playing with sensory toys and toy figures
Working closely with private therapists

Person Specification

The family are looking for a support worker who is bubbly, enjoys the great outdoors, swimming, and who can engage with William.

Experience not necessary but a desire to help William reach his optimum independence is essential.

In addition, your commitment and attention will be rewarded with excellent rates of pay and a place as part of this caring and supportive family where support staff are valued and have a great deal of job satisfaction.
