Description
Trade Assistant - Various weekly inspections and site checks.

Training will be provided for statutory tasks (Flushing of Little used outlets and Emergency Lighting Monthly Checks) on our busy Wittering based site.

Key Tasks

You will understand and take responsibility for the successful completion of Monthly & Weekly HFM regimes.

You will work proactively and responsibly in conjunction with the MMS management team.

You will demonstrate a "can do" attitude, with a desire to achieve company performance targets and deadlines.

You will be a valuable team player and possess excellent customer skills, forward thinking and professional.

You will need to possess excellent communication skills.

You will need to be flexible, adaptable and possess excellent planning and problem solving skills.


Record all results in Emergency log book (FR300) & for Legionella Flushing record flushing completed into sites legionella log books.

HFMWATT-289-1W - Flushing


Carry out weekly flushing of all infrequently used hot and cold water outlets, in accordance with the site specific Legionella Risk Assessment written scheme, as detailed on the job pack.


Approved Code of Practice & Guidance L8, Risk Assessment - a list of outlets to be provided by the customer and as detailed on the job pack.

Flushing will be required to outlets that do not achieve the following monitoring results carried out by the site water specialist.


  • Hot water a minimum of 50 degrees Celsius after one minute (55 degrees Celsius in healthcare settings). With a TMV fitted, water temperatures at the hot tap should not exceed 44 degrees Celsius.
  • Cold water a maximum of 20 degrees Celsius or below after two minutes.
HFMEMYT-342-1M - Emergency Lighting

  • Switch on, in the emergency mode, each luminaire and each illuminated exit sign from its battery by simulation of a supply failure to the normal lighting, for a period sufficient to ensure each lamp is illuminated. Generally as HFM specification.

Key Responsibilities:


To be able to work on your own and carry out tasks without detailed supervision in the most efficient & economical manner and in accordance with the relevant legislation.


To demonstrate a clear understanding of contract requirements & instructions from client and line manager for each job pack to achieve satisfactory completion.

To accurately complete all site records & forms, log books, job packs, risk assessments etc.

To co-ordinate with others on site, to ensure works are completed within timescales set.

To ensure work activities are carried out safely and to high quality.


To recognise and communicate with the client and line manager by recording any change or workplace event that may delay or disrupt the job in which the works are to be carried out.

To be a dependable & important member of the site team and additional works team.

Essential Qualifications

Legionella Awareness Training.

On-site training will be provided.

Experience in planning own works and programming visits to ensure completion on time.

Excellent H&S knowledge and experience and able to complete and work to Risk & Method statements.

Full UK driving license.

Desirable

Experience of working on military establishments.

Previous experience on commercial maintenance contracts.
