As Maintenance Staff, you will maintain the fixtures and fittings of the building and ensure our high standards of maintenance and upkeep are followed.

Although this is not a forward-facing role, it is important that you maintain good customer relations with guests as some jobs will involve being around busy areas of the hotel.

Keeping our hotel running smoothly is vital to our guest's experience and you will play a key role in this.

What will I be doing?


As Maintenance staff at The Victoria Hotel, you are responsible for keeping our establishment looking its best, from simple repairs, forward-thinking for future repairs that are in need of planning to much larger projects - there is a real variety of work and no day is the same.

You will need to be proactive in ensuring any emergencies are dealt with immediately and be able to do your best work whilst remaining calm under pressure.

Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:


  • Carpentry
  • Plumbing
  • Problemsolving
  • Painting and decorating
  • Swimming pool testing and maintenance
  • General maintenance and carrying out daily maintenance issues

What are we looking for?
To successfully fill this role as Maintenance staff at The Victoria Hotel, you should maintain the qualifications, attitude, behaviours, skills, and values that follow:

  • Experienced maintenance person, or someone who holds a trade qualification
  • Must be experienced in power tools
  • Have an awareness of, and a good attitude towards, health & safety
  • Be capable of carrying out a range of different maintenance tasks.
  • Good understanding of power tool safety along with experience of practical work
  • Great communication and customer service skills
  • Passionate about delivering the highest levels of service with a desire to learn, work hard and progress within
  • A level of fitness you'll be on your feet most of the day, and will need to bend and kneel a lot
  • Good problemsolving and troubleshooting skills
  • Able to work effectively as part of a team and independently
  • Be able to prioritise tasks
