Senior Mental Health & Wellbeing Coach:


  • Role details**:
  • Salary: £30,951 per annum
  • Hours: 37.5 per week (6week rota including mornings, afternoons, nights, and occasional weekend working)
  • Location: Blaenau Gwent
Annual Leave: 40 days in total (30 days + bank holidays + 2 gifted days to be taken during festive period)

Role/Service Overview:


  • This role will support delivery of a 24/7 support service in partnership with the local health board.
  • You will be based in newly developed, modern accommodation, so we are looking for someone to help create a supportive and empowered environment for this new team and the residents it will support.
  • The service will support patients transition from secure hospital residential settings into a supported community setting and will also aid the transition from CAMHS into Community Mental Health Teams. Eventually, the service will aid the individual to then transition into independence within the community.

Senior Mental Health & Wellbeing Coach - Role Requirement:

  • Experience working with people who have complex mental health needs, disrupted attachments and interpersonal difficulties and challenging behaviour.
  • You must be comfortable and confident in handling difficult situations including selfharm and suicidal tendencies.
  • The rota is a rolling rota covering six weeks and includes mornings, afternoons, nights, and occasional weekend working which you
    must be able to commit to.
  • You must be willing to work on and oncall basis (on rota shared between four people).
  • You will have a good understanding of the wide range of community and third sector organisations operating across Gwent and be proactive in establishing links with these.
  • Have an NVQ Level 5 in Health and Social Care
    or be willing to work towards this whilst in post.
  • Understanding of PIE, ACEs, and strength/restorativebased approaches.
  • A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
