People with severe mental health issues face huge barriers when it comes to employment. Over 80 per cent of them would like paid work, but only 8 per cent achieve it.


Could you be part of the team that's dedicated to addressing this injustice? Berkshire Healthcare's Individual Placement and Support (IPS) employment service is looking for an IPS Community Coordinator to champion our mission and support people with significant mental health issues to gain, sustain and retain paid work.


The postholder for this new role will work alongside our two experienced IPS Coordinators as well as working closely with and under the direction of the IPS employment service Team Lead(s).


As Community Coordinator, your role will have a focus on helping to ensure all eligible clients are able to access IPS by working closely with a wide range of non-traditional referring teams and encouraging self-referrals.


Each IPS Coordinator has direct IPS/supervisory responsibility for employment specialists within their remit, in this case those working in primary care as part of our MHICS (mental health integrated service) teams.

You'll coach and mentor your employment specialists to manage their caseloads of up to 20 clients, in line with the IPS fidelity model and approach.


You'll also manage your own caseload of up to ten clients who may present with more complex or severe mental health issues.

This is a Berkshire-wide role.

IPS supervision, coaching and mentoring of MHICS employment specialists, supporting integration in their clinical teams, and enabling them to perform at their best and to target

Play a key part in the IPS leadership team - accountable for and contributing to the performance, quality, and equity of our overall offer

Community engagement, outreach, and a focus on equalities to ensure the service is offered to all eligible individuals

Support the development of our co-production strategy, including our peer/lived experience offer

Support a caseload of up to ten clients who may present with more complex or severe mental health issues

The 'must haves' for this role:
Degree or equivalent experience

Experience of supervising, mentoring, and coaching front line staff to deliver best practice

Able to adapt management style responsively to suit different individuals within the team

Excellent motivational, communication and listening skills

Strong analytical skills

A high level of organisation and perseverance
